Better late than never! My wind chimes started tinkling about 1:30, but it wasn't until almost 3 that a reasonable session seemed like a possibility. Headed for DC expecting some nice, mellow huge gear (formula board, 9.5 sail) cruising. I did use the formula board because the wind was pretty puff at first, but a couple of 20 mph gusts convinced me that a 7.5 would be a better sail choice. Whit arrived at about 3:30 (shortly before I hit the water) and rigged a 9.0 kite. We both ended up being nicely powered up from about 4 until almost 6, at which point I quit due to fatigue; the wind was backing off a bit, but there were still 20 mph gusts coming through. No powerboats; small, clean swell. Beautiful scenery. A really nice afternoon!
Air temp: 60; water temp: 61.
